The Surrey Knights hosted its first meet of 2024 with a Long Course Provincial meet on Friday. Swimmers from our Junior Performance and High Performance groups represented the club well in a field with some of the top swimmers in the province. A big shout out to all our volunteers who took the time to come out on a Friday. Meets cannot be run without your continued ongoing support. Special thanks to the parents with swimmers not in the meet who came out to help!
Leanne C continued her assault on the SKSC record books, this time notching a new record in the 50BK Long Course for 11-12 year old girls. She also earned a new Western cut in her event for 13 year olds despite being 11. Great swim!
Meanwhile on the men’s side, Matthew S stepped up and earned his first Western National cuts in the 100Br and 200BR. Congratulations! Allen W added new 14 year old Western cuts in the 200FR and 200BK, while Joshua P earned a new 15 year old Western cut in the 400IM.
Both Phoebe L and Christian E earned their first 13-14 provincial times reaching the mark in the 50 fly and 50 breast respectively. Both Anas H and Nadia VD added new provincial times to their list in the 11-12 100 breast, while Charlotte M added a new 13-14 cut in the 50FR.
Knocking out 100% best times on the day were Leanne C, Christian E, Anas H, Matthew H, Joshua K, Brian L, Idris LB, Phoebe L, Gloria M, Charlotte M, Omran M, Andy P, Joshua P, Preston S, Matthew S, Zaahur SA, Nadia VD, Allen W and Eric Z.
