IMPRORTANT: SSLC Maintenance Shutdown Schedule May 26 to July 7
As most families are aware of now, the Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex will be on a maintenance closure from May 26 to July 7. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we waited for the City. Please find below links to the schedule:
Competitive Development - Gold SSLC, Gold GLFD, Gold 11, Gold Weekemd, Silver SSLC, Silver GLFD, Silver 11, Silver Weekend, Bronze SSLC, Bronze GLFD, Bronze Weekend
Please note the following:
- This is live document so any changes will be seen in real time. Any changes we will highlight in yellow.
- The week of May 26 is different then the week of June 2nd onward for some groups, as the Hjorth Road Outdoor pool reopens May 31st, allowing us to move some of our competitive groups outdoors. Note, these development groups will swim indoors at Guildford through June (no Hjorth Road).
- Most groups will have the same frequency and days as much as possible. There are some switches on the weekends due competitions and events. Because of the smaller window of pool time at Guildford and balancing coaching, some workouts have shifted times. Please look carefully week to week as it does change, especially on weekends and between the first and second weeks..
- Silver weekend group will be split for some workouts into an A group and a B group. This list is available here.
- We have extended the season an extra few days as we are delaying the start of summer camps to the week of July 7th due to the maintenance closure. We will be doing either a Roundtable, Relay Night or other event on Weds, June 25 and Thurs, June 26 with more details coming out later.
Competitive Shutdown Schedule - Senior Performance, Senior Divisional, Junior Provincial, Junior Divisional, Junior Competitive, Youth Performance, Youth Competitive
Please note the following:
- This is a live document! We will try to highlight any changes made.
- The week of May 26 is different then the week of June 2nd onward as the Hjorth Road Outdoor pool reopens May 31st.
- Please look at each week carefully as there may be slight changes due to competitions and coaching coverage from competitions. Especially weekends!
- Most groups will have the same frequency and days as much as possible with the following exceptions:
- Weekends will vary by weekend due to swim meets and events at Guildford
- Some competitive groups have a day change, or morning move to another day, depending on the week due to limitations of pool time in the AMs and on Sundays. Please look carefully.
- Junior Competitive Sundays after the first week will move to Monday PM. If you don’t usually have Sunday afternoon, you do not attend Mondays and you cannot switch a Tues/Thurs AM to Monday PM.
- Youth on Tues/Thurs will have a 3:15pm start. We understand some swimmers will arrive late, and that’s ok. This allows those who can to have a 90 mins workout, and those who will be late will still get 60 mins.
- At the moment until we see what the deck situation is we will only run activation at Guildford. Once we have a better idea of the deck situation looks like, we may reintroduce dryland at the Guildford workouts. There will be drylands at Hjorth Road so bringing running shoes!
- Outdoor workouts will run rain or shine. There will be dryland to start the Hjorth Road workouts. Please be prepared for the weather. Great preparation for Divisionals!:
- Sunny - sunscreen, extra water, dark/mirrored goggles
- Rainy - garbage bag to put over your swim bag, extra clothes/towels
- Some nights, we will be swimming width wise. This allows us to run 10 lanes vs 8 lanes helping to spread the swimmers out more. The most common nights will be Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday.
Masters
- AM - remains the same, less lane space
- Tues/Thurs PM - 6:00-7:00pm GLFD - if you are dropping in on Tues or Thurs, please email Coach Josh for May 27 and 29 as we are limited to 1 lane.
Thank you and once again we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we navigate the maintenance shutdown and keep your swimmers in the water. if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
