UBC Tune-Up: New CJC for Joshua

February 2, 2024

UBC Long Course

6 swimmers from HP Red and HP Black had the opportunity to attend the UBC Tune- up.  This one day meet was a great wake up call for swimmers on how difficult it is to race during hard training and what is needed for progress over the weeks to come in preparation for Provincials, Westerns and Olympic Trials.

Despite the hard training leading into the meet, there were some great performances from the weekend.  Joshua P stood out, going best times in all three races and earning a new Canadian Junior Championship cut in the 800FR with his 2nd place finish at a senior level competition.

Jeffrey C was also solid with 2 personal bests and a new provincial cut in the 100BR long course.  Kane P also notched a best time in his 100Fl.

Next up for these swimmers is our SKSC Jan LC and winterfest meets, and the PSW Western Long Course Invitational.
