Team Expectations for Finals and Relays:

  • Unless a swimmer noted during the meet sign up process they are unavailable for a finals session, swimmers who are on relays, reach finals, or are 1st/2nd alternate after prelim results (9/10 for A final only, 17/18 for B finals) are expected to return for finals.  Please note there is a $20 late scratch penalty for finals.
  • If your swimmer is outside of the alternate positions (9/10 for A final only, 17/18 for B final events) and is not on a relay, please double check with your coach before leaving for the day.  Coaches need to scratch up to 16th place for A final events, 24th place for B final events in order to not be charged if your swimmer is to move up into finals/alternate position.  Once again DO NOT LEAVE without official results being ready and without communicating with a coach.

Relays:

  • Relays will be swum at the beginning of Friday finals session:
  •  If selected for a relay, swimmers are expected to attend, unless arrangement was made during sign up process

Team Gear:

  • SKSC team gear (shirts, caps, etc…) is required to be worn by all swimmers while on pool deck
  • SKSC Caps are to be worn by ALL swimmers regardless of hair length for their races/relays
  • Make sure to bring extra clothes, towels, water bottles and healthy snacks!
    • Reminder No glass containers or bottles allowed in facility

Team Expectations:

  • Swimmers arrive on time and participate to their fullest potential
  • Communicate before and after each race with coaches, regardless of the results.
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards the sport, other swimmers and officials
  • Sit as a team
  • Activation will be outdoors - please dress appropriately
  • Take the time to help other team members
  • Stay off electronics unless for communication with parents or music.  Engage with your teammates and meet.
  • Reminder that Safe Sports policies are in place, this includes no deck changing

Other Reminders:

  • All swimmers are required to check in with their coaches before leaving the meet after their last race.  This is to help ensure no one is missing races and also lets us know you have left.  Swimmers do not need to wait until the end of the competition.
  • SKSC and Coaches are not responsible for swimmers between sessions- please plan accordingly for the breaks

Parent Notes:

  • No spectators will be allowed on deck during prelims (due to capacity limits of the facility). There is space for a limited number of spectators during the distance session and finals. There will be a designated spectator area beside the pool where all non-participants are expected to remain.  During prelims, if a parent would like to watch, they can use the hallway to the side of the pool and will have to look through the glass. Volunteers will be asking parents to only come at the time of their child’s race and parents will be expected to clear as soon as their race is done to allow other parents the opportunity. There is a limited space for spectators. For on deck viewing during finals and distance events, as a courtesy to others, we ask spectators to rotate in/out of the facility once they have watched their child’s event.
  • Volunteer Sign Up – they are in need of volunteers for the meet especially on Friday and Sunday at this point.  Anyone wanting to volunteer can check in at the volunteer sign in desk in the front lobby during the beginning of the warm up to see if positions are needed (a way to watch the whole meet). Your name will be taken down and we will accept the number needed on a first come, first served basis.
  • The meet will be livestreamed on the Hyack Youtube channel.
  • Parents are responsible for their swimmer between sessions.

  •  Pay parking at CCAC available for $4 all day on Friday and Saturday (on the meter just need to max out the time and pay the maximum $4; if early at the meet, and won’t go as high as $4, just max out the time and this will be honoured as all day parking); free parking at CCAC on Sunday.
