Podium Mind is Coming to Surrey Knights Swim Club this January 2026
Hi all,
We’re excited to share an important addition to our programming for our competitive swimmers 11 and older. This year, Surrey Knights will be working with Podium Mind, an online learning platform teaching mental performance from Canada’s top Olympians, Paralympians, and Certified Mental Performance Consultants (CMPC).
Our expectations for athletes are to follow the weekly program and engage with the lessons each week for 10-15 minutes on their own time.
There is no cost to any individual!!!
Please read the full notice for details on how this program will work.
Why Mental Performance Matters:
Mental performance work is an important part of athletes’ development as highlighted in Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development. These are skills that will benefit athletes both in sports and in life. Science has shown that mental performance skills help athletes with:
- Compete with confidence
- Manage nerves and pressure
- Be resilient in the face of setbacks
- And find enjoyment in their sport
SKSC is working with Podium Mind because of their unique approach to mental performance:
- Engaging – athletes learn directly from Olympians, Paralympians, and CMPCs through short videos and stories.
- Season-long – the program is spread across the year, supporting steady growth rather than one-time workshops.
- Practical – designed to fit with busy schedules and today’s digital athlete, requiring only about 10–15 minutes per week, virtually on your own schedule.

What This Means for Your Athletes:
Each athlete will receive access to the Podium Mind platform. They’ll be invited (with the same email as the one you are receiving this message) to log in and complete short modules and activities over the course of the season.
As parents, your role is simple: ask your child what they’re learning, and celebrate the skills they’re building.
Our coaches and Podium Mind’s platform will remind athletes of the few lessons we are working on each week throughout the season.
