VOLUNTEER ASSESSMENT & JOB CREDITS AGREEMENT

Volunteers are the backbone of the Knights team. Without their support, membership fees would be significantly higher and swim meets simply couldn't happen. To ensure events run smoothly and work is shared fairly across all families, a mandatory volunteer points system applies to all competitive and competitive development swimmers.  Earning your job credits is straightforward—we just need your active participation so everyone benefits.  A more detailed explanation can be found here: SKSC Volunteer Assessment Explanation Page

I hereby acknowledge that I am the parent or legal guardian for the swimmer(s) registered with the Surrey Knights Swim Club (or a 19 & Over swimmer). I also acknowledge that I am a member of the Surrey Knights Swim Club and agree to the following terms and conditions regarding volunteer commitments, assessment assessments, and job credits:

1. Assessment & Club Philosophy

  • Mandatory Participation: Volunteer assessments are mandatory part of the program for participation in all SKSC Competitive and Competitive Development programs. By registering my swimmer(s), I explicitly agree to fulfill the volunteer assessment associated with my registered group(s) or pay out the unearned portions of my assessment.
  • Financial Subsidy Model: SKSC operational and program fees are substantially subsidized through fundraising activities, host swim meets, and volunteer operations. Member volunteer participation is essential to the financial sustainability and overall operational success of the club.

2. Earning Job Credits & Member Responsibilities

  • Credit Earning Opportunities: Members have the opportunity to work off their volunteer assessment balance by earning job credits. Job credits are earned through eligible volunteer roles, volunteer roles at swim meets, completing official clinics, attending general club meetings, and other designated club tasks.
  • Volunteer Information Reference: A comprehensive list of eligible activities, credit values, and policies can be found on the SKSC Volunteer Assessment Explanation Page.
  • Account Tracking Responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the member/account holder to ensure that earned job credits are properly recorded, verified, and accounted for on their SKSC online portal account.

3. Assessment Adjustments & Alternative Opportunities

  • Mid-Season Adjustments: Volunteer assessment requirements are subject to recalculation throughout the season based on roster changes, group movements, mid-season program withdrawals, or sibling additions/adjustments. Members are responsible for regularly reviewing their account balance to stay informed of their updated assessment balance.
  • Alternative Volunteer Requests: If personal or special circumstances hinder a member’s ability to volunteer in a traditional capacity, it is the member’s responsibility to contact SKSC administration within a reasonable timeframe to inquire about alternative opportunities to fulfill their job credit obligation.

4. Billing, Financial Settlement & Surplus Credits

  • Unearned Credit Invoicing: Any unearned portion of the volunteer assessment will be invoiced at a rate of $5.00 per unearned credit during the standard July billing cycle, or immediately upon early program withdrawal.
  • Automatic Payment Processing: Unearned volunteer assessment balances will be automatically charged to the credit card on file during the first 5 days of July. In cases of early withdrawal, the balance will be processed immediately upon finalization of the account balance.
  • General Revenue Retainment: All collected fees from unearned volunteer assessments will be retained as SKSC general revenue.
  • No Cash Value: Job credits earned in excess of the designated volunteer assessment hold no financial value, cannot be rolled over to future seasons, and will not be refunded or converted into monetary payouts or registration credits.

Acknowledgment

By completing registration, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by all obligations, financial commitments, and requirements outlined in this Volunteer Assessment & Job Credits Agreement as a member of the Surrey Knights Swim Club (SKSC).
